Virtue

Today, we will be talking about virtue. why virtue on this blog?
Now, let's look at the definition of a virtue:
virtue /vəːtʃuː,ˈvəːtjuː/ Noun/
meaning a behaviour showing high moral standards
.
A quality considered morally good or desirable in a person.A good or useful quality of a thing.
The word virtue comes from the Latin root vir, for man. At first virtue meant manliness or valor, but over time it settled into the sense of moral excellence. Virtue can also mean excellence in general.
Looking at the above definition, you will agree with me that we need to comprehend and practise virtue to enable us carry out our tasks daily and as at when due with a happy mind.

The quote below helps in assimilating the meaning of a virtue which we, irrespective of our status will have to abide by and not only us, but also our children.
We should ensure we indoctrinate these virtues(prudence, temperance, courage, faith, hope, charity, fortitude, justice) to our children at a very tender age to help shape them into becoming the best version of themselves as they grow up.
Morality is gradually fading away in the society and it is our duty as parents to ensure we guide and guard our children into the right part so they do not derail on this life's journey.
T make this happen, we as parents should constantly display good moral standard in our dealings. This is because, we are role models to these children and children tend to practise more of what they see than what they hear.

We are all in this together. May God help us to be good role models to our children. Amen.

  3. (a short poem on "Virtue"By Ken)

    Oh Virtue,
So what they say about you is true,
Anyone who doesn't have you inside them is in rue,
Please come in and stay cuz your time to stay in mine is due.

Virtue is what we live for and what keeps us going. It holds the key to greater things.

Thank you Mary for your enunciation.

  4. When we consciously know these virtue and display them, it makes our work easy on the children because they will try to emulate it. We should also be available to direct them in sticking to it.

  5. Glory follows virtue as if it were its shadow says Marcus Tullius Cicero. The glory of every parent is the joy that they handed the baton well and having the offspring do well in all ramifications. The first step however is through living a life of virtue, as they learn by practice of what they see you do. I pray we are awakened to be more intentional in this duty. Thank you for this reminder. Well done.
